Food Toy

Today I had the most annoying thing and the most amazing thing happen to me. But first let’s get to the re-cap.

Breakfast was the usual… a little oatmeal, a little raisins, couple of blackberries, 1/2 pumpkin flax granola, scoop of better n butter Peanut Butter and some almond milk.

I’ll never get tired of this meal… But, I’m sure you do. So I’m thinking of ideas for tomorrows breakfast that are different and exciting! Any suggestions?

The girls and I went to the aquarium…they didn’t allow strollers and my leg’s were on their death-bed from my workouts this week – so of course the 2-year-old wanted me to hold her the entire time. All I have to say is – She’s lucky she is cute!! Since I was just at the Boston aquarium less than a week ago I compared the two and think that Boston definitely wins the award. Baltimore is still great but I think the Boston one had a few more unique exhibits. My favorite was…

The dolphin show! Dolphins are my favorite animal… I’m pretty sure I was having more fun than the girls. I took them to lunch at Chipotle (and ate a strawberry greek yogurt) and then we all took a nap! I woke up earlier than them so for my lunch I had some hummus, Magic Pop’s (LOVE) and an apple.

Since I missed bootcamp on Tuesday I was determined to get there extra early for this class… Yes, I was 20 minutes early. I get changed…and I’m missing a sports bra and ONE shoe. I mean, really… could someone cut me some slack!? On Tuesday  I also forgot a sports bra but made do… but the one shoe? That was not going to work. I was SO frustrated!! This is truly the story of my life. I forget something at least once a week. Tomorrow I am just going to wear a gym outfit to work so I have no excuses of forgetting anything. I got back in my car and attempted to bribe myself… I thought “If i go home, get my forgotten items and drive BACK to the gym (15 minutes each way) then I will reward myself with something new at Nordstrom”. When I got home there was a Nordstrom catalog in the mail…so it was fate! Or not. That just made me find things I wanted in the catalog…and search from them online. Then i was hungry – so I decided to make dinner. So, as of now, there has been NO workout. Dinner was the perfect winter salad…

Spinach, goat cheese, 1/2 a pear, couple of walnuts… I also needed some protein and I had picked up a crab cake at Whole Foods on Tuesday so I popped that in the oven and threw it on top.

It definitely hit the spot! I was still a teeny tiny bit hungry and could use something cold for dessert… That’s when I remembered I received this for Christmas.

Duh…How have I not used this yet!? Tonight was the night to break it in… If you do not have a food processor you will most likely go out and buy one after you read this recipe. We all know how much I love desserts…Especially anything with ice cream. So I’m sure its no surprise to you that I made a soft-serve/fro-yo concoction. I’m not even sure what it is…but it resembles those two things and it’s healthy…and that’s when i stopped caring what to call it. So call this what you’d like.

Peanut Butter and Banana soft-fro-yo

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop of better n butter peanut butter
  • approximately 7 vegan chocolate chips
  • pinch of salt
  • dash of vanilla extract

Put all of this into your food processor and mix until smooth. You will have to turn off a couple of times to scrape the sides down into the mixture.

Please excuse the cardboard still on the center piece… I clearly was overly excited to get this started and never fully finished unwrapping. Oh well, no harm was done.

I added a few more of the vegan chocolate chips on top as a thank you to myself for coming up with such a brilliant idea. So now the only thing left for you to do is freeze every banana you have in your kitchen, buy a food processor (if you dont already have one), and prepare to crave this instead of ice cream for the rest of your life. Ok, maybe half of the time. You can thank me later.

Good news – One of my favorite stores is having a sale right now! Everything that is on Sale is an extra 25% off 🙂

Here are a few things that I want that could work for summer and winter.

(Click on picture to take you directly to website) This would be cute with a boyfriend blazer and skinny jeans in the winter… Also could be great with silk black shorts in the summer and a sexy pair of heels. Originally $70 on sale for $40.

Originally 90 dollars on sale for $50 – This could be worn with a long sleeve thick cream colored cardigan overtop (and possibly belted) with booties…and in the summer with flip flops for casual wear.

Last but not least… an originally $100 skirt on sale for $55. In the summer this would be perfect with a tube top and bib necklace and in the winter tights and a sparkly scoopneck tee.

They also have fun home items! So, if you are not from Maryland you most likely do not know about this website and it’s one of my favorites so now that you do please don’t buy everything I like in my size…unless you are sending it to me 🙂

OK – now that I’m still sitting here in my gym clothes it’s time I get my butt doing something productive. Fitness on Demand…here I come.

Picture taken on the way home from work…Obsessed with sunsets 🙂

Dont forget…Tonight its T-Shiiiiirt tiiiiime! Fist pump @ 10pm on MTV.

Whats your favorite On-Demand fitness workout? I’m tired of doing the same one!

  4. I am the same way with my breakfasts! Same bowl of oats with slight variations…I feel bad putting the same thing on the blog all the time but oh well! By the way better n peanut butter is addicting! and the fro-yo looks amazing!

    • Yes it is! I seriously scooped into it 3 times yesterday…whoops! But it also has 85% less calories than normal peanut butter. I actually prefer it over regular now 🙂 I’m about to attempt a new breakfast…hopefully it works!

  5. Love your site! So cute!!!
First off, I have to tell you that I am SO jealous of the crab cake that you can just pick up at Whole Foods…we do not have that option here in FL, well we might but it would be with Krab, not Crab 😀 LOL!
Love that clothing site as well- checking it out now. 🙂

  6. i LOVE that your dad commented! haha so awesome girl!!

  8. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Love the fashion finds, I like the blue skirt. I have very short legs so when I wear a skirt, it has to be short to even out my torso.

I love sunsets too. When I go on vacation, there are always sunset shots
