Hellllllo Thursday! Thank you all for being smarter than me and letting me know the machine I was using and calling a Motion Trainer was called an Arc Trainer 🙂 Today is a busy one so let’s get to it!

Todays breakfast included 2 Whole Wheat Vans Waffles topped with defrosted mixed berries and a dollop of Better n Peanut Butter.

Love these! I ate them in my car while driving to work – Super talented 😉 (just kidding, mom&dad)

Lunch was leftover Sweet Potato Gnocchi. Just as good re-heated! (No picture necessary) If you didn’t see my post yesterday you must go to Trader Joe’s and pick this up.

I also snacked on the protein bars I made last night… These honestly taste like candy bars! They feel sinful… and I like it.

Have I told you before how much I LOVE crockpots? You just throw everything in there in the morning and come home to a wonderful aroma and a dinner ready to serve. This morning I made a healthy Turkey Chili because I knew I had a busy night ahead of me.

This is what it looked like when I left the house..

This is what it looked like when I came home…

Easy Crockpot Turkey Chili

  • 1 lb 99% fat-free ground turkey breast
  • 1/2 of an onion, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 can of kidney beans
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes w/ jalapeno
  • 1 cup of frozen corn kernels
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. cumin powder
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • splash of Tabasco sauce (to taste)
  • Splash of apple cider vinegar
  • Cheese, Sour Cream (Greek Yogurt), Chips, Green Onion as garnishes

  • Put the tomatoes, kidney beans, apple cider vinegar, frozen corn kernels, and spices into the slow cooker.
  • In a large nonstick skillet, saute the peppers and onions in the olive oil on medium heat. When the onions are soft, add the ground turkey and continue to cook, breaking the turkey up into small chunks with a spatula or spoon. When the turkey is browned and cooked through, add the turkey, bell pepper, and onion mixture to the crock pot and stir to combine.
  • Cook the chili on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 8 hours. Season with salt, pepper, and Tabasco to your taste.
  • Serve the chili hot in bowls with desired toppings

This meal is great for a crowd, a Sunday afternoon, a chilly night or even a Thursday when you are running around like a mad woman.

I was able to get a boot camp workout in this afternoon – Consisted of 3 minutes intense cardio followed by 3 minutes of weights for an entire 60 minutes. It was a sweaty one!

I’ve seen this survey going around in blog world so I figured I would join in the fun and do my own! Feel free to do it as well if you already haven’t (i may be the last one). I’ve loved seeing everyone’s answers!

A: Age

I am 26 years young. My birthday is September 5th – It’s a National Holiday this year (and every year in my eyes)

B: Bed Size

I own a queen but I am currently sleeping in a twin.

C: Chore You Hate

I hate doing the dishes after I cook/bake and am trying to learn to clean as I go but it’s not going so well… I also don’t like folding laundry…and anything that has to do with bathrooms. Ok, I’m going to need a maid.

D: Dog

No puppy for me… Probably one day!

E: Essential Start to Your Day

Down time in the morning – I need 30 minutes to “wake-up” before I actually get out of bed…

F: Favorite Color

Orange. But my favorite color to wear is yellow.

G: Gold or Silver

I like the gold and silver combo.

H: Height

5’5” – wishing for just 2 more inches!

I: Instruments You Play

Sadly, none. I can’t even whistle! Whomp whomp

J: Job Title

The bestest Nanny ever – I just asked the 2 and 5-year-old what I am and that was their response 🙂

K: Kids

Not until I’m married! I would like to have my first by age 30…and then pretend I’m Angelina Jolie and have 15 more. Ok, maybe 3 total? We’ll see.

L: Live

Annapolis, MD

M: Mom’s Name

N: Nicknames

Lyss, Lysi, Sissa, Shisha, LB, punkin, princess, punky and nickel

O: Overnight Hospital Stays

I think just once during the Superbowl where Janet Jackson flashed everyone! I had a kidney infection. Nothing serious

P: Pet Peeve

ANYTHING that has to do with driving. I cannot stand people who get into the fast lane when there was nobody in front of them and then go slow. Also the constant wearing of the bluetooth… I was at California Pizza Kitchen last week and there was a couple having lunch together that both had them on. Necessary?

Q: Quote From A Movie

You sold your soul to the devil when you put on your first pair of Jimmy Choo’s, I saw it.

R: Righty or Lefty?

S: Siblings

Two baby brothers

One seeester

T: Time You Wake Up

My body wakes me up at 6:27 every morning… No matter what time I go to bed. Dislike!

U: Underwear

I’m pretty sure my dad doesn’t want to see this.

V: Vegetables You Dislike

Fennel – It tastes like black licorice and that is gross.

W: What Makes You Run Late

Technology…My phone, the computer, the TV, music…anything that distracts me from getting ready!

X: X-Rays You’ve Had

Hold on, let me pull out my “X-rays I’ve had” list…

Y: Yummy Food You Make

Mac & Cheese Muffins

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

S’mores Ice Cream (Dairy-Free)

Stacked Vegetable Lasagna

Z: Zoo Animal Favorite

Well it’s not technically a “zoo” animal – but it’s my favorite animal in general. Dolphins!

Day 28: Something that stresses you out

Money & Time… There just never seems to be enough of either!

QUESTIONS: Favorite Color? Nicknames? Vegetable you dislike? Tomorrow is Favorite Friday – anything you want to see?
