About

Hello – Name’s Alyssa…or Princess. Whichever you prefer.

I have an unnatural obsession with shopping and have recently become extremely infatuated with food. There could be worse addictions right? :/

Desserts makes me happy. Bacon is heaven on earth. There is nothing better than the combination of peanut butter and chocolate. Nothing.

I know everyone says this but I REALLY do have the best friends and family in the world. My boyfriend’s not to shabby either 😉

I’ve gone from wanting to be a kindergarten teacher, to a hooters waitress (hey i was only 5), to a wedding planner, back to the dreams of becoming a kindergarten teacher, started working for a company planning corporate events, switched to being a nanny to the two sweetest girls and am no an Event and Sales Manager in Hoboken.  If there was a job that could include baking, children, crafting, planning events and socializing – I would be the most successful woman in the world. Basically, I want to be a younger more fashionable Martha Stewart.

I just moved to Hoboken, NJ to be with my boyfriend after sticking it out for the past year and a half in a long distance relationship (from MD). I enjoy cooking and trying out healthy and not so healthy recipes. I believe in balance… No one can eat healthy 365 days a year. If you say you can, you’re lying…or extremely deprived.

You can find my daily eats, workouts, obsessions and thoughts all right here. Convenient right? I’m also a complete klutz so I should have at least 1 dramatic story to tell you each day. Yes, it happens that often.

My goal is to share my foodie adventures with as many people who care to read about it. All creations are my own, unless otherwise noted.

Did I mention that I am obsessed with Desserts? Ok then… Let’s get to the good stuff.

“Everything in moderation, including moderation.” — Oscar Wilde

I used to have a Bohemian mindset when it came to food when I was younger. Then I became insulin resistant and said “screw this!” That was my fault, though…eating a horde of sweets and not expecting to reap the consequences.

  13. LOVE your about page totally agree everything in moderation!

  14. we have so much in common! we’re both Alyssa, I come from NJ, and you want to end up in NJ. 🙂 rock onnn, sista.

  16. The question is not “Would I hire you to plan and coordinate my wedding” it’s…”How much are you going to charge me?” Because…I can promise you one thing, IF I ever get engaged, you will be hired the same day!

  24. Hi Alyssa, new reader here but noticed you had wished there were more books to “Something Borrowed” and “Something Blue” and there is, the first is called “Baby Proof” that has the same characters and the second is “Love the One you’re with” all by the same author and just as good as the first two…I just enjoyed all four of these books so much that I couldn’t let you keep going out without knowing Emily Griffin has more to offer, enjoy!

  25. So glad I found another NJ blogger! Love your pictures and can’t wait to read more!

  26. OMG High-Fives to chocolate and peanut butter! I go through so much peanut butter and almond butter that I’m actually going to attempt to make my own almond butter next week. Trouble Trouble Trouble! I live in NJ as well. If we are ever in the same area we should meet up. I like your outlook on food, fitness, and life. Life is too short to not enjoy good food, good wine, and sweets! It’s all about moderation…Right? 🙂

  27. Hey girl, just found your blog because someone posted your tofu & spinach stuffed shells recipe on another blog. I like your site already and in real life we would probably be friends. 🙂

Just wanted to say hi and to keep on rocking and blogging!
