WIAW

Woohoo half way through the week!! First of all I’d like to thank EVERYONE for their supportive comments, emails, texts and tweets on yesterday’s post. I was surprised at the amount of responses especially because I chose not to post it on Facebook for the day. But thank you all very much – it means a lot 🙂

I haven’t participated in a WIAW in a while so here it goes!

Breakfast was a cinnamon raisin bagel thin with egg whites and some turkey slices

Lunch was my new favorite smoothie: Blueberry Monster

What went into the smoothie below.

Dinner: This is on an appetizer plate – that’s why it looks overflowing! BBQ Pulled Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Zucchini Fries and half of a sweet potato biscuit

A day is never complete without dessert 🙂 – Chocolate Almond Butter Granola in Dark Chocolate Almond Milk. YUM.

I’ve been eating cereal/granola with chocolate milk every night after dinner. I just love the combo! It may even be better than ice cream? Just maybe though.

I wore these white jeans to work – Anytime I wear white jeans/shorts – it rains.

Yesterdays gym routine was 40 minutes on the elliptical and walking 1.6 miles on the treadmill. I ran Sunday and Monday so my legs needed a break. I also did a couple of ab routines. I bought the bender ball which I want to start using at home – it’s Alyssa’s (#2) secret to her banging abs 😉
I was feeling quite lucky because someone cleaned the entire house – vacuumed, mopped, did all laundry, cleaned sheets, scrubbed bathroom and kitchen

So really there was nothing else to do but rent the movie I had been waiting for to come out on DVD!

My thoughts? The book was 100 times better… But the movie was still cute it just felt cheaply made or everyone was doing a horrible job acting? Something was off.

I’m off to make that smoothie above and head to work – If I could give you one tip for the day it would be to make this smoothie this morning – it will give you TONS of energy.

Blueberry Cake Monster

  • 2/3 cup of fresh blueberries
  • 2/3 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 1 scoop of cake batter protein
  • 1 frozen banana broken into chunks
  • 1 pinch of xanthan gum
Blend well until all spinach is combined. You cannot taste the spinach so don’t be afraid to try it 🙂 See you tomorrow!

QUESTIONS: Are you always let down by movies after reading the book?

  1. I totoally waited for SoBo to come out on DVD too -but I will have to wait because I am enthralled by the 5th season of Dexter right now 🙂

  2. That smoothie looks good! (Even with the green-ness :)) I actually loved Something Borrowed but I didn’t read the book so I had zero expectations! I actually read Something Blue and am now reading Baby Proof so I’m glad I saw the movie to discover the author. Lucky that your man cleaned the house! 🙂

  3. The pulled chicken looks yummy! yes, I am usually let down by movies made after books. I don’t know why I keep letting myself go see them!

  4. what brand is the cake batter protein?! i just ran out of my oh yeah vanilla so i am in the market for some more!!

  5. I can NEVER find this cake batter protein that has taken over the blog world!!! Where do you find this magical powder?!?

I love bagel thins, but I’ve never tried the cinnamon raisin kind. I usually get the “Everything” kind. I must try this new flavor!

  6. Yes movies never quite live up to the book…I hear The Help is good so maybe I’ll see that *without* reading the book!

  7. That smoothie sounds awesome! I need to get myself some cake batter protein!
I dont think movies can ever live up to the books! Some are definitely better than others for sure and some are just horrible. Its understandable that they can’t fit everything into a movie just like the book but I always hate when they change/add things and then get rid of stuff that really did happen!

  8. See, I felt the opposite, hated the book, loved the movie, haha. 🙂 Your outfit is super cute!!

  9. I actually really enjoyed the movie adaptation. It was nowhere near as good as the book, but I can’t think of how it could have been a better translation. I thought Kate Hudson and John Krasinski were perfection (even though I’m not a Kate Hudson fan!)!

  10. I love cereal with chocolate soy milk. This is a step up from my usual chocolate doughnuts with chocolate milk. 😉

  11. Yep, there are a lot of movies I’ve seen that I wish I didn’t because it ruined the imagery of the book to me. I love your J Brands!

  12. ugh, I LOVE granola in chocolate silk! so freaking amazing.

  13. omg that granola looks incredible I have been an addict lately I can only imagine how delish it would be with chocolate milk

  14. your smoothie sounds AMAZING! i’m crazy for green monsters, especially when they include blueberries. Yum! Usually I imagine things totally different than they come out in movies, so i try not to compare because i just end up getting frustrated haha.

  15. A day is definitely not complete without dessert!

  16. Green smoothies DO give so much energy!! And they’re really quite tasty too! 🙂

Granola and chocolate milk sounds incredible!!

    ❤ ❤

  17. should I read the book first? or jsut see the movie? or both? haha!

your breakfast is one of my FAVs!

  18. I finally found a green smoothie concoction that I don’t want to throw up from! yay for that haha. They used to gross me out so so much (the color I guess?) but not anymore!
Excellent choice of dessert there, I have cereal almost every night!

  19. I watched Something Borrowed last night too! So funny what a coincidence! I thought it was cute 🙂

  20. I didn’t read Something Borrowed, but I saw the movie in the dollar theater and thought it was pretty cute. Kind of dumb, but cute! John Krasinski makes everything better 🙂

  21. Usually I would say yes, but I just got back from seeing the Help and it was amazing!!! 🙂

  22. I loveeeee cereal with chocolate milk!!!

  23. i find books are always better than movies. White Orleander is a great example and I’ve heard The Water Elephant (movie) is no where near as good as the book.

i agree. chocolate milk with cereal is 34734x better.

  24. i have never heard of a bagel thin and seriously why did i never think of chocolate milk in cereal! you have opened my eyes to new things!!
